PIANOFIGHT / C.A.F.E

World Premiere of dotLOVE Friday Feb 8th

Shortly after being let in the theater for the first rehearsal of “.LOVE” at Off-Market, creator Richard Jennings came flying out into the hallway looking for ice. Now, this is not totally unusual, as we PianoFighters frequently hunt for ice in the mid afternoon in need of a nice cold drink. However, with Richard Jennings, it’s different - he’s an old guy.

Having suspiciously (hopefully?) asked what he needed the ice for, we found out that he was not, in fact, fixing himself or his cast any drinks. Rather while moving a piano with his musical director Rona Siddiqui (who doubles as his pianist), smashed her hand between the wall and said piano, leaving it bruised, swollen, and in dire need of some ice.

So Richard went out to get something cold for Rona’s hand, and we poured ourselves tall glasses of whiskey (no ice). And now, weeks later, with the World Premiere run of “.LOVE” set to open this weekend, and Rona’s nimble fingers healed and ready to play, Richard will once again be in need of some ice - for a celebratory  drink after a kick ass opening on Friday night.
