SAN FRANCISCO, CA - July 6, 2009 – PianoFight’s wildly successfully, touring sketch comedy act returns to the Bay Area for its fifth installment in under a year with the limited premiere run of Stop Hating Imagination Time V: Laugh 'n a Half!, in Studio 250 at Off-Market, Friday and Saturday nights, July 31 – August 15, at 8:00pm – tickets are $20 online (www.pianofight.com) or at the door, and, as always, brown bags encouraged.
After knock out shows in the LA Comedy Festival and the SF Sketchfest, PianoFight’s Stop Hating Imagination Time Show (SHIT Show) has put its UC Berkeley alum writer/producers (Ray Hobbs, Devin McNulty and Duncan Wold) back to work to hammer out their fifth collection of all new sketch comedy in 10 months.
As always, the show is a fast paced bundle of loosely interrelated sketch comedy pieces. But this time around, the producers are continuing their asymptotic approach to legitimate art by working in an exciting array of mixed media that will include video, slideshows, and even a powerpoint presentation--all of which play into the live action unfolding on stage. If you're into harshly vulgar sketches, you'll love it; if you like biting satire and complexly structured meta-comedy, you'll love it even more. Come see why the SF Weekly called PianoFight 'Funnier than SNL.'
The show features SHIT Show mainstays Duncan Wold, Evan Winchester, Jed Goldstein, Devin McNulty, Ray Hobbs, Jaque Vavroch, Rand Courtney, Christy Crowley, Jeremy Mascia, Eric Reid, Derricka Smith, Dan Williams, Rob Ready, Gabi Patacsil, Alex Boyd and Arlen Ginsburg.
PianoFight is an SF-based production company founded by Rob Ready and Dan Williams, which has been running Studio 250 since July of 2007, and has produced original works, premiered all-new shows, created and developed an online web series, and cut a short film, all while remaining true to its commitment of producing new work by new artists.
